Bat Freight Update

Hey everyone! I have an update-

The Bats have Officially shipped!!!!

There's 80 giant boxes of bats in this truck that are now on a ship to us!

If you look close you can see the Ugly Plants logo on the sides 😎 Unfortunately, the ETA to Los Angeles is June 12- a little less than a month. From there, we will have to wait and see the freight situation at the port for a more accurate ETA to my house! I'll be monitoring it and keep you guys posted. This is quite a bit later than initially anticipated, but it's just the nature of freight shipping (especially in 2021).

I'll post updates as I get them, let me know if you want an in-depth explanation of anything or have any questions!

(There will be continued opportunities to update addresses as needed!)

Final Reminder about Address Changes!

Since bats are expected to leave the manufacturer this week, we're getting a head start by shipping add-ons first. If you contacted me about an address change, your survey will remain unlocked until tomorrow afternoon! (I have a vet appointment in the morning haha).

Some Orders are Ready to Ship!

If you have a separate add-on order or only ordered add-ons (the charms and pins), some of these will start to ship tomorrow!

This means cards will charge for some orders!

If you used a credit card to pay (as opposed to PayPal), and your order is ready to ship, you'll get a notification tomorrow afternoon that your card is being charged! If you have a purse in your order, it won't charge yet. I'm waiting to do it a bit closer to the arrival date of the bats :)

If your payment does not go through, your items won't ship!

WoooHoooooOOOoooO!

The final payment was made yesterday, meaning the purses will ship AS SOON as they're ready!

Hopefully that's sometime before the weekend. After that, I'll try and get more accurate estimates for arrival for you guys!

Potential Hiccups

Yeah, we're not out of the woods yet ;0;

There's still things that can go very wrong when shipping 2,000 plush objects!

• Slow Freight Options
• Issues at the border (customs)
• Suez Canal type debacles
• Missing, Damaged, etc. goods

I won't go into detail on any of these unless it comes up, because we just don't need to think about any of that at this point :) I've never had any of the above issues before, but this is also my largest order EVER so you just never know!

Addresses + Combined Orders

And just as a reminder, you've got till Sunday May 16 to shoot me a message or e-mail to get address updated or orders combined! 

Be sure to message me either from Kickstarter directly OR from the e-mail you used to order- I don't want anyone trying to steal anyone's orders by pulling a switcheroo, so we need to be sure the person contacting us is the one placing the order :D

Arrival + Address Changes!

Hey everyone! A quick update from production land! My manufacturer got back to me and let me know: 

Purses should be finished by the Middle of the Month!

I wish it were a bit more specific- I'll ask for any photos they have of production so I can share with you guys :)

Address Changes

A few of you guys have needed to change your addresses which is totally fine! But we're going to start shipping orders that don't include bat purses soon, so I want to make sure everyone has their final address

If you already messaged for an address change:

You should have received a response and a notice that your address has been unlocked. Addresses will be re-locked on Sunday May 16

If you think you need an address change:

Please message me before Sunday May 16. After that, we will begin shipping orders that don't include bat purses. This leads me to the next point:

Add-On Shipping

Starting Monday, May 17, we will begin to ship orders that are JUST ADD-ONS. This means, if you were one of the people with multiple orders and paid shipping multiple times, you have until Sunday May 16 to contact me to combine orders.

We've already processed a couple of these- I have a spreadsheet with the order numbers and have manually processed shipping fee overages, it's no biggie!

If I do not hear from you by May 16, I will assume you are cool with your orders being sent individually!

Hey guys! It's the first M O N D A Y in May so I thought it was time for an update!

Thanks for being patient for the last few weeks- this part of the process is the least exciting. It's all about waiting on the goods to be made! I've contacted my manufacturer to see if I can get a more precise ETA to share with y'all.

Just as a recap, the reason for the slight delay is mainly twofold:

• Back and forth on tag finalization
• Issue with the bulk black fabric (it had to be returned and repurchased)

These things pushed the timeline back a little. We also don't know what the overall workload of the factory is right now, if there were big issues for OTHER clients etc. Also, it's worth noting that in the grand scheme of things I'm a very small client. If someone large (think like, REALLY big) had a tighter timeline, they're probably going to prioritize them since thats $$$. That's just sort of the way it is!

What have I been doing in the background?

• Working on spreadsheets
• Order consolidation
• Gathering packaging supplies
• Planning fulfillment strategies with my team
• Planning storage strategies with my husband lol

So, it's not super fun! I guess if you guys would like more updates of these smaller sort of yucky details, let me know!

It's been a busy month but really slow paced, but I expect it's gonna pick up speed really soon and really suddenly!
